Emily wants you to be healthy and happy, strong and courageous, and wild and passionate. For the past eight years she has been instructing a variety of group fitness classes; from Yoga Sculpt to Lifting, TRX to Barre, HIIT to Cycle. She brings her enthusiasm, dedication, and passion to every class she teaches. In her free time you can catch Em working out, running around outside, or listening to hip hop music. “You do challenging things every day- hold on and do the best you can in that moment!“
Emily fell in love with dance at the age of three. She grew up dancing classical ballet for over 18 years, joining a professional ballet company (The Milwaukee Ballet) at age 17. After a change in career paths, Emily went to business school and now works full time as a project manger for United Health Group. Dance still remains Emily's number one passion. She enjoys sharing her love for dance with others through teaching dance fitness classes. She aims to bring joy to others through dance and teach them the beauty of using it as a way to express yourself.
Emily, a life-long lover of movement, took her first yoga class in 2004. In 2011 she completed the Jivamukti 300-hr teacher training and began teaching classes in the Bay Area, where she lived with her husband, daughter and son until relocating to Edina in 2014.
Since arriving in MN, Emily has led classes in and around Minneapolis, including teaching yoga in her kids’ school classrooms, and has enjoyed exploring different styles of yoga. In 2016 she discovered Strala, a power, feeling-based movement practice that uses the forms of yoga and the principles of natural movement to help people drop stress and tension from their bodies and minds. Right away, she found that practicing with softness and ease was revolutionary, and for the first time ever, she found that coming to the mat each day was always fun, and always felt good.
In 2017-2-18 Emily completed over 100 hours of training with Strala founders Tara Stiles and Mike Taylor. She is thrilled to be on the lifelong journey of guiding this practice, helping people to soften, breathe deep, tune in, and respond in an easy-going way to both simple and challenging things. Aside from her family, her greatest joy is helping people to feel better, move better, and live better through a better connection to themselves.

Michelle has been a fitness pro since 2002. She is a certified group fitness instructor, personal trainer, and yoga teacher. In a previous life she worked in Human Resources where she was yelled at every day by angry employees; she left that job in 1998 and never looked back! She quickly found her calling in the health and fitness industry where she gets to improve peoples' lives every day. Her teaching style is that of a personable, welcoming, nurturing coach, and her intention is that everyone in her classes feels challenged as well as successful, and leaves her studio after class feeling better than when they walked in. She believes in building community wherever she goes and refers to her class participants as her 'fitness family'. She is overjoyed and grateful to now be part of the mXe family.

Rebecca was raised to believe passion + work was an essential combination. The love of humans, their bodies, what the combination could do fascinated her since a child in a strip mall dance studio (who remembers those?) to a young adult studying both Anatomy & Physiology in massage training along with her professional dance career she carries to this day. What blind luck Rebecca practices in the day-to-day of being a grown-ass-woman: birthing/raising/being awed by two young humans; a performance career with Ballet of the Dolls and now Collide Theatrical Dance Company; and a history of working with (adult-sized) humans in massage, personal strength training, cycle, Pilates, barre. The word “muse” is never lost on her. Ask Rebeca why in person.
I’m a Minnesota native, mother to Ayla (4) and wife to John. A lover of rescue dogs, all things wine and the pursuit of spicy ethnic food. Twenty five years of marathon running, group fitness, yoga and dance have revealed a personality full of energy, resilience, strength and purpose. Little did I know that courage, self- acceptance, and lifelong friendships would also find me along the way. I am thrilled to celebrate each of our authentic selves at mXe. As an Ambassador, it’s my vision to inspire, foster and grow a community of joy and change through movement and service.
